Selain dari definisi hukum, secara umum,\u00a0perjanjian kontrak rumah\u00a0atau\u00a0perjanjian sewa menyewa rumah\u00a0adalah perikatan yang diadakan antara pemilik rumah dan penyewa rumah dengan isi menerangkan hubungan sewa dan memuat ketentuan mengenai hak dan kewajiban para pihak.\u00a0<\/p><p>Perjanjian kontrak rumah\u00a0bertujuan menjaga kepastian hukum dan melindungi kepentingan hukum para pihak. Untuk pihak pemilik rumah, perjanjian ini biasanya mencantumkan kewajiban yang harus ditaati oleh penyewa rumah misalnya kewajiban membayar sewa tepat waktu, kewajiban merawat rumah supaya tetap dalam kondisi baik, dan lain sebagainya.
